In one of our previous studies, we saw that character failure is an epidemic in our generation. Character challenge has caused untold harms to the lives of people. Character failure has caused so many misfortunes to people, and in many cases, untimely deaths.
Now, it is important to know that character challenge started from the beginning of times, not long after creation. The root of character challenge is traceable to Adam and Eve.
Character failure began with the very first man.
Now, I would like to highlight one root of character failure that was responsible for the fall of Adam and Eve.
A major cause of character challenge is company with the enemy. Anyone who keeps the company of the enemy, the unrighteous, and the ungodly will lose character.
Eve began a communication with the serpent from the beginning.
Genesis 3:1 says,
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Eve was in talk with the devil. That was the origin of the collapse of man’s character.
1 Corinthians 15:33 says,
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
It doesn’t matter how good your character is, whenever you decide to engage with the devil or his agents, your character will be lost. You lose your godly character when you associate with people with ungodly character.
Remember this: You lose your godly character when you associate with people with ungodly character.
ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Refuse to keep company, communion and communication with the enemy.
2. Maintain the company of the godly to maintain godly character.
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace never to lose my godly character. I receive Your help never to keep the company, communion and communion of the ungodly, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
